Gettysburg and Pennsylvania

Gettysburg is hard to explain. It was nice to finally have history be so much more tangible but it was also a somber moment as you realize that you are standing on a field where thousands gave their lives. It was also inspiring to be in a place where people fought for the greater good because, to them, it was worth fighting for, and some of them fought to the death. Still, as we walked around and saw the magnitude of the battle fought there, I could not help but feel as if I were walking through a cemetery. We drove around the battlefield and saw where everyone would have been. We stopped at a few places of interest some of them included The Angle, famous for Picketts Charge, Copse of Trees, and the Highwater Mark. We also saw the museum which had a ton of artifacts.

Then, it was off to see Brenna Ghent, a family friend. We were glad to see her and spend time with her in Pennsylvania. First we went to Otto's Pub which had great food. Then we were treated to a great treat, Berkeys Creamery, the best ice cream around! The flavors were so good and we all agreed that it was worth it. Then Brenna gave us a lovely tour and it was off to the house to get some rest.

This was a funny scene, as we pulled up to park it was only thirty minute parking so you had to turn your hazard lights on when you parked.
